Narooma by Emily Trindal (Gundungurra Nation)
Emily is an emerging indigenous artist. Descendant of the Bidgywan people from Burra Burra and Buragorang clan groups of the Gundungurra Nation, in the beautiful heritage listed Blue Mountains Region.
'Narooma' is an artwork celebrating the mountains and water, simply displaying how significant they are to her people. The water runs through the centre of the artwork, signifying how it was the centre of many dreaming stories which was such an integral part of her ancestors life's. The stones run along the sides of the river, and symbolise the many boulders and rocks that lay on the creek beds around the Gundungurra region.
